JVC property guide: choosing an apartment

JVC is a residential community where the individual building and its immediate surroundings deserve close attention. Use the neighbourhood as a starting point, then compare the specific home you would actually occupy or let.

A checklist for your visit

Walk the immediate streets and assess access to the shops, parks and services you expect to use. Test your normal journey at the time you would travel. Check parking, building entry and any nearby construction; conditions can differ from one part of the community to another.

Compare the usable apartment

Compare internal area, storage, balcony depth and the furniture layout rather than bedroom count alone. If a unit is advertised as furnished, request the itemised inventory and appliance specification. Check the actual view and daylight from the chosen floor.

Build a realistic ownership budget

Request service-charge information, cooling arrangements and likely maintenance responsibilities for the particular building. For a rental strategy, compare evidence from similar units and allow for vacancy and costs before estimating a net return.
